Founded in 1962, Sugarbush Polo is the oldest polo club in Vermont, and is the only Vermont club affiliated with the U.S. Polo Association. We offer a friendly, collaborative atmosphere that combines competitiveness, horsemanship, sportsmanship, volunteerism and fun. The polo season runs from May through October. We play on three fields. One is Cottonwood Farm, in Colchester, one at 2150 E. Main Street, Richmond and one at Flemer Field, 878 Old County Road, Waitsfield. All have their charm and challenge. We offer polo practices, tournaments, clinics, lessons and anything polo for riders, riders-to-be and spectators alike. Click on Calendar to view 2026 schedule.

Sugarbush Polo extends its warm wishes to Dr. Lewis First, Pediatric Chair at UVM, who is embarking on his retirement. Dr. First was the longest running pediatric chair in the U. S. Years ago, he hosted one of our tournaments. His enthusiasm was hilarious, and his lame horse jokes were a crowd pleaser. Godspeed, Dr. First, enjoy your retirement.

The Sugarbush players are in Ocala, Fla, here participating in the Love of the Horse Polo Classic.
Ocala, Florida. Ah, look at all that green.
